Bryan and I ebb and flow with our finances (we have shared accounts for everything) since we are both self-employed entrepreneurs. Some months our budget has more wiggle room and sometimes we have to have a come-to-Jesus conversation and tighten up our spending. Early in our marriage, we set a crazy big goal to pay off ALL our student loan and credit card debt. Thanks to the cash-only / envelope system and a lot of dedication, we did it! In February of this year, we decided our spending had gotten a little too crazy and agreed on another big crazy goal — to pay off our lot in Lake Oconee (where we plan to eventually build a lake house) within the next few years.
