This is beautiful and so true. I’m finding the courage it takes to partner very adult children who don’t need parenting anymore but who I very much still want to parent. That balance between holding on and letting go never goes away.

My mom is on hospice. She is at home and currently stable at the moment. She is bedridden so I am her primary caregiver. Struggling with being there for her while sacrificing moments/opportunities with my husband & teens.

Watching my own parents navigate the season you're in changed me as a person. In beautiful ways. Sending you love and encouragement. Your kiddos are watching you be so brave and show such love.

Wow, this brought me to tears. We are in the process of putting our home on the market and finding our next home. We have been anticipating this for a while, excited for something new. But now we sit in the messy middle, finishing up the unending to-do list to make our home perfect, planning to move into a temporary home until we find our next home. My son is ending first grade and we don't know yet where he will go to second grade because we haven't found our next house yet. The uncertainty surrounding our next home and where he will go to school grips tightly at my heart, but I'm choosing to be strong for him as he starts to piece this all together. I know this will be a very temporary problem, but right now it's hard to see to the other side.

The in between is always hard for me too. I don't do well with "grey." I need BLACK or WHITE. Learning how to thrive in the middle part of the adventure is a big lesson for me lately. Cheering you on.

Wow! This is so beautiful and heartfelt. I love the message of the different ways of being brave and how you exemplify that to your children. What a wonderful reminder. Happy Mother’s Day!

I am in the thick of the baby rolls, gummy smiles, and toddler meltdowns… but this so beautifully defines what motherhood means. Thank you Emily. Happy Mother’s Day to you all! 💕

I’m watching my daughter getting ready to leave middle school and enter high school in the fall. And navigate high school cheer and all the things that come along with it. She’ll be driving in the blink of an eye and then college applications. I’m excited to see what her future holds but I just want her to be little again and get back all the time I missed working outside the home.
