I read some really great books this year. I leaned heavily into my love of thrillers and mysteries but also read a couple great nonfiction books (parenting, poetry, history, memoirs, and more). Below is the full list of books I read (and recommend!) this year (divided into fiction and nonfiction), with personal notes on why each one stood out to me.

At the end, I’ll share my favorite book of 2024. I hope this list inspires your next great read AND that you’ll share your favorite reads of the year in the comments. I’m already making my TBR pile for 2025. Before we dive in, both Amazon and Target are currently offering BOGO 50% off on many books! It’s a great time to stock up for the Christmas break!

Fiction

Kill for Me, Kill for You by Steve Cavanagh, ⭐ 4.3/5 - This thriller is packed with secrets, lies, and revenge—so fast-paced I couldn’t put it down.

The Mistletoe Mystery by Nita Prose, ⭐ 4.5/5 - Such a cozy holiday read! A fun, festive mystery that’s perfect with a blanket and hot cocoa.

A Lovely Lie by Jaime Lynn Hendricks, ⭐ 4.4/5 - Full of twists and surprises, this one kept me guessing with its real, relatable characters.
