Happy Sunday! How you today? Last week was a mixture of heavy and light—and for our family, I still can’t believe this, nearly a foot of snow! In Pensacola! I will never, ever get over it. This will for sure be our 2025 Christmas card photo:

I was 35 before I saw real snow, the kind that gathers on window sills and you need actual snow boots for, on a business trip to Ohio. To have it in our own backyard, right off Pensacola Bay? A miracle. Core memories were made this week.

PS: Walter had some thoughts about the white stuff.

Wherever you are, I hope you’re snuggled up under a cozy throw blanket with a mug of something warm and delicious as you scroll. Speaking of—let’s get to it!

  1. The wacky things Texans used as sleds. Listen, we inexperienced snow people are out here trying our best. 🤣

  2. Just take the photo. This essay was so, so good. Sometimes we get so caught up in aesthetics (🙋🏻‍♀️) that we forget: in 15 years, I’m not going to care about how my chin looks, or my hair. I’m going to treasure having this memory with my people.

  3. Never show up empty-handed. Show up with condiments. Okay, yes, I can handle this!! Olive oil. Fancy salt. Your favorite jar of *the good* salsa or jam. Plus, the host isn’t stuck with a tea towel that’ll sit in their regifting closet. Win!

  4. Doing nothing with your favorite people is really, really good for you. Remember when you’d just go over to your friend’s house and do nothing for hours but have the best time? Turns out, that was great for our mental health. Let’s bring this back!

  5. I’m 45 and I look my age. I LOVED this! Confident people are the most beautiful, period.
