Good morning, and Happy Sunday! How’s your weekend going? This week was the first time I felt like 2025 has *actually* arrived. And honestly? I’m here for it. I know after a week we’re supposed to go, “Blah, real life is here again, and it’s hard.” And… it is hard. But this year, the freshness of a new calendar year has hung around a little longer than usual. Maybe because I’m looking on The Bright Side now? Pun 100% intended since… that’s the name of my new Substack!! I’m curating a space dedicated to sober curiosity and vibrant living. If that’s something you’d like more of, come join us there!

Check out The Bright Side Substack

I’ll still write about wine and women occasionally in this space, but I wanted a dedicated space to explore more of that content. Can’t wait to have you there!

Ready for more reads? Me too!

  1. On the menu this week: this 6-ingredient spaghetti squash spaghetti. I will ride-or-die for pasta, but sometimes I want to pack a few more veggies onto our plates. This recipe from The Simplified Cookbook is a winner: super simple, and everyone LOVES it!

  2. “Be honest, have you had work?” 11 people open up about what they do — or don’t do — to their face. Listen, we all know I’m interested in skincare and which products and procedures are worth it. So you KNOW I clicked on this article so fast. I thought it was a really interesting look at how people view beauty, and aging, and how they identify (or don’t!) with those things.

  3. 9 readers share their cozy corners. I love seeing how other people make their homes so warm and inviting. The floating IKEA shelves for art displays — so smart!!

  4. He’s a security guard at the Met. Now his work is showing there. The feel-good read of the week! The artist in me loved everything about Armia Khalil’s story: growing up in a small town in Egypt, falling in love with traditional Egyptian and also Renaissance art, dreaming and creating and working so hard, a sister who secretly applied for a US visa on his behalf, a chance encounter with an undercover Met curator. What a journey!
