Happy Sunday! How are you today? I’m getting over my emotional hangover from ugly-crying in the last 15 minutes of Wicked. It’s SO GOOD! The costumes, the scenery, the casting, it’s all phenomenal. Go this week! Take your family!!

Also. Hello, Thanksgiving! (How did we get here? Wasn’t 4th of July last week?)

Listen, I know this week is a rollercoaster. There’s great food! And great people! But the To-Do List of it all can feel a bit much.

Just remember: you do not have to make the day perfect to make it enjoyable and memorable. I’m preaching to myself, a recovering perfectionist, as much as anyone.

Ready for a few links? Me too!

  1. What everyone is making for Thanksgiving on Substack. I’m always curious what everyone is feeding their families. Now I get to be nosy about what my fellow Substackers are making for Thanksgiving!! (So curious: what’s your must-have dish for Thanksgiving? Mine is mashed potatoes. And dressing/stuffing. I’m Southern, so we say “dressing.” Gimme all the warm, comforting carbs!)

  2. 10 things people were wearing in Paris. I always, always want to know what the French are wearing. So simple, so classy. I love Paris with my whole heart. Take me back!

  3. The picture that prompted a life change. This essay stopped me in my tracks. I have been here before and could relate so much. It’s interesting when you get the life you think you want . . . and realize maybe it’s not the life you need.

  4. An unputdownable book rec: HERE ONE MOMENT by Liane Moriarty. Holy moly, you guys, this book! I inhaled it. A super original thriller with an intriguing premise: this woman gets up on a flight and starts telling people when and how they, um, die. Then these people get off the plane and have to live their lives wondering: Is this lady crazy, or is she onto something? You as the reader wonder, How will they change their lives because of this information? And is this stuff going to come true? It’s fascinating. I love Liane Moriarty, so of course I liked this book. If you need something to escape in for a while this week, get this one!
