Sunday Scroll #130
An essay that'll restore your faith in humanity — plus lasagna, my travel essentials, and history's most underrated artist.
Good morning — and welcome to March! How’s it going? I don’t know about you, but when we flip the calendar to March, I could nearly weep with joy. The flowers are here. The breeze is turning warmer. Daylight is stretching a little longer each day. I’m here for it!
But whew, it’s been a week over here. A new travel collection (more below!), learning the Simplified Planner had been named Forbes’ Best Overall Planner, and an NPR interview sandwiched between drop-offs and emails and “Did you sign my permission slip?” and pizza delivery (again). Good things! But still. I’m still learning a lot about slowing down, and some seasons ask a bit more of us. I’m trying to find the slow and meaningful where I can: quiet early mornings, a cup of coffee in hand before anyone else wakes up. I wish it were more, but this season, that’s what I’ve got. I’m okay with it!
What neighbors do. If you want to believe in humanity again, please read this essay.
Building systems that work on bad days. “The real test is what holds up on the days when you’re running on low sleep, your brain feels foggy, your motivation has evaporated, or you’re simply overwhelmed by the sheer amount of life happening at once. That’s when you need structures that are forgiving, flexible, and easy to return to, not ones that make you feel like you’ve failed.” Tattoo this on my arm.
Do you want something calm to listen to? Put on this classical piano album. Perfect for working to, going to sleep to — or doing anything, really.
How good does this lasagna sound right now? I’d definitely be getting seconds.
A lot of women don’t realize they’re lonely. Here are 6 subtle signs. Oof, I’ve been there. Really insightful suggestions for gently turning things around.
In your skincare routine, this is why applying your products “thinnest to thickest” isn’t always accurate. This blew my mind! (Also, if you like learning about skincare, this creator is such a great follow—a step above a straight-up beauty influencer but explains it like I’m 5.)
What is an accountant, and why should I care? If you’re flailing your hands in the midst of tax season, I get it. This is a great look into the world of accountants and CPAs — seriously, it’s interesting!! And I say this as a not-numbers person: money stuff isn’t so scary when you dig a little deeper.
The artist who went where no one else would. Trust me, you won’t see this coming!
10 cleaning mistakes that can damage your home (and how to clean smarter). #5, #6, and #8 have definitely gotten me before. You??
It’s here!! Our Simplified Travel Collection dropped last week, and y’all — it’s easily one of my favorite collections we’ve ever made. A few of my favorites:

This jewelry organizer is so cute and handy! Keep your necklaces, rings, earrings, and bracelets safe and secure on the go.
This leatherette train case set in our Misty Meadow pattern includes multiple interior pockets and elastic compartments — and even includes a clear mesh pouch! It’s the perfect bag for organizing your makeup, brushes, and all kinds of accessories. (Caroline’s already asked me for 6 of them to give to friends!)
This luggage tag in our Rainbow Row pattern is going to make spotting your luggage at baggage claim SO easy!
*Unrelated, but I bought this new Olaplex pre-shampoo treatment at Sephora this week and it’s REALLY GOOD. My hair is so dry right now, and this stuff’s bringing it back to life.
I don’t know about you, but these days if I need to do something and it’s not written down, it’s not getting done — period.
This week Team Simplified brainstormed 5 lists to keep your house running. Any kind of automation that someone has done for me? What a gift.
Have a great week!

I’ve started listening to French pop music when I need something on in the background while I work. I don’t speak French so I don’t get caught focusing on it too much. Also, it’s been a fun way to try something new at no risk.
Relate to all the memes 😂 love the new travel collection!
