Good morning—how are you holding up? This last week was filled with so much, from rage-inducing and unspeakable acts to the love story that distracted us for a moment. I’m feeling a bit raw, to be honest. Sending lots of warmth and comfort your way this morning.

Today is definitely a good day to grab a cup of something soothing and get scrolling, right?

  1. Happy Gilmore Girls season to all who celebrate. 🍂☕️ I love how Lorelai and Rory resonate with women of all ages, including Gen Z. (PS: The older I get, the more I *get* Emily. Is that just me?)

  2. One of the reasons I think we love Gilmore Girls is for the town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut. Neighbors look out for each other! The small-town festivals are quirky and fun! This week I read about Brunswick, a small town in Maine that has Stars Hollow vibes. They have a Library of Things that folks can “check out,” like a KitchenAid or Happy Birthday sign or hoola hoops. That way, people don’t have to buy things that just end up collecting dust. I think that’s genius and neighborly, and feels like it’s from a cozier era.

  3. I love hearing about why people love where they live. From feeling a cool coastal breeze to watching the snow fall gently on the mountain. From finding your favorite bodega to joining the community choir. I’m here for it all. (One of my favorite things about where I live? My sweet neighbors. ❤️)

  4. Do you read for pleasure? It’s a loaded question, right? You could read books. Or Substacks. Or scroll through articles on your phone. Or listen to your books. Or podcasts. There are so many ways to consume media these days. But even still, are we “reading” as much as we used to? This article from Anne Helen Petersen about the ways we read (or don’t) these days was illuminating. And made me want to stock my audiobook queue, which is my favorite way to read these days.
