Good morning, and Happy Sunday! How are you today? I’m feeling all kinds of refreshed from so much new:

  • New school year

  • New TS album 🧡

  • New era for this Substack!

I can’t thank you enough for your kind words and excitement for the change. I think our new era will meet us where we are even more. You want to know the best new nail polish (that won’t wreck your nails) or the stupid easiest weeknight meals, and talk about wading through what’s tough in this season? At The Landing, I’ve got you. I’m so glad you’re here!

Ready for some links?

  1. Have you ever tried to change the way someone thinks about something? I have. Many times. But the older I get, the more I realize it’s not my job to change someone’s mind. If I do want to inspire change, being the example — aka being myself — is enough. Just a thought as you go into this week.

  2. I can predict it like clockwork: at the end of the first week of school, my kids climb into my car feeling pretty grumpy. I get it — even if you’re happy to see your friends every day, getting back into the swing of things is tough! That’s why I always greet them at the end of the first few weeks with a little treat to transition them into a relaxing weekend. If I’m in a hurry, it’s Gatorade and Reese’s cups. If I have a little time, I’m making these three-ingredient pumpkin muffins. They also make a perfect breakfast treat with a hot cup of coffee. (Plus, they help me imagine the crisp fall breezes that will come to Florida . . . in three months! haha!)

  3. Speaking of food, do you have that one friend who won’t shut up about ALDI? Who talks about it like they’ve discovered the best-kept secret and they want you to be as obsessed with it as they are? I am that friend!!! I love ALDI. Its prices on meat, produce, CHEESE, chocolate — I mean, basically every — is unbeatable. Plus the quality is just so good! How are the prices so low? Are they really related to Trader Joe’s? Why do they sell all kinds of random stuff in the middle aisles? This might answer your burning questions.

  4. If you’ve ever longed to take the person you are on vacation back into real life, this read’s for you.
