Book Club: Mattering too much
I never doubted my worth. I just measured it by all the wrong things.
When I picked up our March read, Mattering by Jennifer Breheny Wallace, (Amazon | Bookshop.org) I thought I’d be reading about something I already knew. I already know I matter. Whether it’s how I was raised or my Enneagram 3-ness, that’s never been something I’ve questioned. Every person has inherent worth. Case closed. What could a whole book about it possibly offer me? Then I flipped to chapter three and read the title: Mattering Too Much. Oh.
Let me take you back to the summer of 2013. It was a summer when everything hit at once.
