9 deep dives help you find your summer rhythm
From the archives: the posts that helped you figure it out
It's July, which means we're deep enough into summer to know how it's actually going versus how we thought it would go. Maybe you're crushing it with your kids happily occupied and your house somehow still clean. Or maybe you're wondering how you're going to make it through another six weeks while hiding in your pantry eating goldfish crackers.
Either way is fine. Both are normal.
Summer is this weird season where we're supposed to be more relaxed but somehow also more on. More present with our kids but also still working. More spontaneous but also more organized because nobody else is managing anyone's schedule.
Over the past few years, I've written about the reality of summer — the logistics, the exhaustion, the joy, and the beautiful mess of it all. These nine posts from the archives seem to resurface every year because, apparently, we're all figuring out the same things over and over again.
Summer doesn't come with a manual, which is both the beauty and the terror of it. We're all just figuring it out as we go, making it up, adjusting when things fall apart, and hoping our kids remember the good parts more than the times we hid in the pantry.
These posts are from summers past, but the questions remain the same: How do we keep everyone fed and reasonably clean? How do we balance structure with freedom? How do we take care of ourselves while also being everything to everyone?
The answer, I think, is that we don't figure it all out. We just keep showing up, keep adjusting, and keep trusting that good enough really is good enough.
💬 Which of these resonates with where you are right now? Let me know in the comments — I love hearing how you're navigating your own summer rhythm.
